Based on the ethical charters of journalism, international media are obligated to observe impartiality, integrity, and respect for the truth.
The recent performance of Reuters in interviewing Prince Reza Pahlavi and subsequently publishing a biased report was a clear departure from these obvious principles and a fall into the lap of commissioned sabotage.
The “AMA Party” hereby expresses its strong protest against this unprofessional and biased approach.
In this interview, instead of addressing major national issues and structural changes in Iran, an attempt was made to push the atmosphere towards destruction by asking personal, directed, and repeatedly answered questions; behavior that is miles away from the standards of prominent international media.
The publication of a report with a ridiculous headline was an exposure of deliberate distortion. With obvious malice, the report ignored the record, international efforts, and fruitful political activities of Prince Reza Pahlavi in leading and accompanying the struggles of the Iranian people, and presented a false and distorted picture.
Also, the timing and language of this report indicate that the main goal is to cover up the remarkable success of the recent calls and repair the heavy blow that was dealt to the regime’s body; especially the call that was met with the support and response of millions of brave people inside the country and shattered the alleged hegemony of the regime.
Reuters’ attempt to downplay this social weight is a direct violation of the general will of Iranian society.
The will and bond of millions of Iranian people with their national revolutionary leader will not be broken by biased reporting and custom-made headlines. With this approach, Reuters spent its professional credibility to uphold a narrative that has been proven false on the streets of Iran.
The AMA Party calls on the management and editorial board of Reuters to be accountable for adopting this destructive approach and unprofessional summarization, to avoid becoming a tool for psychological operations against the Iranian national revolution, and to observe the principle of impartiality in reflecting the truth.
