Subject: Request for effective diplomatic intervention, issuing official statements, and applying international pressure to stop human rights violations and executions in Iran.
His Holiness Pope Leo XIV;
With fraternal respect for you and with shared faith in the lofty ideals of the Gospel in realizing peace, justice, and human dignity, we convey this letter to you on behalf of the rightful voice of millions of suffering Iranians.
Today, the Iranian nation is going through one of the darkest and most painful periods in its contemporary history. Our people live under crushing and deadly economic pressures, structural deprivations, and the neglect of the most basic human rights.
Systematic repression, the lack of basic freedoms, and the increasing and daily wave of executions of protesting and freedom-seeking youth pain the heart of every free person.
In a situation where many official international institutions and organizations that have the responsibility and executive ability have remained silent in the face of this magnitude of disaster or have been content to adopt ineffective positions, the spiritual influence, legal credibility, and global standing of the Catholic Church can certainly be a catalyst and a savior.
Relying on its legal tools and diplomatic power in the international arena, the Vatican has the ability to put serious pressure on the Iranian government by issuing firm official statements, direct diplomatic correspondence, and creating a global consensus, forcing it to observe basic and accepted principles of human rights and stop the execution machine.
Your Excellency
Iran, which has the highest spiritual awakening and conversion to Christianity in the Middle East in the last few decades, has always been grateful for the extensive and humanitarian services of the church in recent centuries – from building educational and medical centers to providing aid to the disadvantaged – and these charities have played a lasting role in the exalted position and popularity of the Lord Jesus Christ among Iranians. We are confident that the guidance, support and companionship of the Vatican today in this difficult and difficult time will forever be engraved in the historical memory and hearts of the Iranian people.
In this heavy global silence, standing with the people of Iran will be a clear example of the Holy Word in the Bible, which says that they light their lampstand not in a secret place, but on a mountaintop, so that its light illuminates the darkness of those who suffer.
Otherwise, continuing this silence will also be an example of persecution against Christians in Iran.
We await Your Excellency’s response to the responsibility you have received from God to protect lives.
With fraternal greetings in Christ,
Iranian Christian Free Party (AMA)
