Mr. J.D. Vance’s recent statements regarding the ancient, noble, and fighting nation of Iran are an insult to human dignity and devoid of truth. Projecting and threatening an entire nation will block the path to diplomacy and world peace in the future.
The Christian Party of Iran (AMA), as an opposition political movement that fights to overthrow the ruling regime and establish democracy and human rights within the framework of a secular government, considers it its duty to remind some White House officials of the firm boundary between the great nation of Iran and its ruling political structure.
The Iranian nation is the heir to one of the oldest, most productive, and most peaceful civilizations in human history. This cultural originality and richness is evident in the brilliant record of millions of Iranians living abroad; a dynamic, progressive, law-abiding society that has been the source of great scientific, economic, and cultural services in the most advanced countries of the world, including the United States, and has always been a source of pride for the name of Iran.
Describing these noble people with terms like “terrorism” or “displacement” is a gross error and far from the obvious realities.
The historical reality is that the current suffering and deplorable conditions imposed on the Iranian people are largely the result of nearly half a century of inattention, miscalculations, and conciliatory policies by many former Western governments toward the ruling regime in Iran.
Throughout these five decades, the Iranian nation has been the subject of political compromises and today it does not deserve to be criticized and insulted by foreign authorities for the conditions of which it is itself a victim.
The Christian Party of Iran, while condemning this unfair approach, calls on the Vice President of the United States to properly understand the historical background and the current realities of the Iranian nation, to officially apologize to the Iranian people for these insulting statements, and instead of evading historical responsibilities, to respect the national will of the Iranian people to achieve freedom and the rule of law.
