We leave this letter to the memory of history with a heart filled with pain, but steadfast in the path of truth and justice.
Once again, the shocking and credible news of the sexual assault and rape of Ms. Ghazal Marzban, a brave woman imprisoned in the dungeons of the Islamic Republic solely for her belief in Christianity, demonstrates the height of moral decadence and the torturing structure of a government that calls itself religious, but whose actions demonstrate complete opposition to all human, moral, and divine standards.
Using sexual assault as a weapon to intimidate and break the will of protesters and their families is not a new practice in this regime. These vile crimes began in the early years of the 1979 uprising and the establishment of the Islamic government against political and ideological opponents, relying on the rules of the holy Sharia at the dawn of execution!
Subsequently, during the 2009 protests and the government’s heinous crimes in the Kahrizak torture center, the dimensions of these violations became so exposed that even some regime officials were forced to confess.
The regime’s suppression machine was once again used with complete cruelty in the Iranian National Revolution; this time, in addition to killing tens of thousands of children, young people, and the elderly, the devilish government did not refrain from mercilessly assaulting and raping protesting girls, and even the lifeless bodies of some of our beloved women. This is a testament to the fact that this regime does not believe in any red line in trampling on human dignity.
This amount of brutality occurs while the regime’s own constitution includes hypocritical claims about freedom of expression, preservation of human dignity, and civil rights; but the bitter truth is that the ruling structure has no faith in even the minimum of its own handmade laws, and the law in this system is only a mask to hide absolute repression.
The free people of the world should be aware that the “Kolyma Tram” is still moving, fueled by silence in the face of what is happening to Ghazal Marzban and other political and ideological prisoners.
The time has come for the world to sever political and diplomatic relations with this criminal regime and bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice in international courts.
Otherwise, this tram has no stops at the borders of the “Gulak”!
